Devlog 3 – Alex’s Hope & Alex’s Solitude are now on Steam!

Hi everyone, Duhop again.

With our Steam page finally up, I’m feeling a lot more excitement for the upcoming release. I feel like I can finally, properly go to town with my marketing campaign and draw some much needed and deserved attention toward the awesome work we’ve done so far!

Along with the Steam page, we also released a teaser trailer for Alex’s Hope that I think really nails down the emotional state of Alex during the story. As always, impostor syndrome and self doubt make it difficult for me to judge the quality of the trailer as the one who made it, but all I can do is push forward and get it out there. If I fail, I fail, and I can just try again. As a brand new marketer I’m sure I’ll be learning a lot in the next couple of months!

As for development updates:

I’ve written some extra context for Alex’s Hope, and the downloadable version on itch.io will soon be updated to include that along with a full edit of the previous writing, as well as improved visuals and additional SFX. At that point, Alex’s Hope should ready for the full release.

Alex’s Solitude is going slower than Alex’s Hope did, partly due to the subject matter being a bit more difficult for me to write, and partly due to school and other obligations starting back up for most of our artists. I’m around three quarters finished writing, and a bit under half of the art is done. At the current pace, we’ll probably end up releasing some time this winter. Since the creativity of most team members seems to come in bursts, it could be earlier if we end up picking up the pace.

I look forward to the day when these devlogs can be looked back on with a smile! Until then, I’ll keep posting them for myself. Peace.
